Abstract :The aim of the work was to study how effective the widespread use of the method of Problem-Based Learning in the educational process of medical education. To achieve this goal, a comparative analysis of the results of the exam ―Propaedeutics of internal diseases‖ in the specialty ―Medicine‖ for the 2008-2009 academic year and for the 2016-2017 academic year in the specialty ―General medicine‖ was conducted when problem-based learning was used. Along with this, the result of the exam on the subject of problem-based learning was analyzed. The results of the comparative analysis showed that maintaining the method of problem-based learning in the curriculum as a discipline and studying clinical cases during the semester and passing the exam separately as a subject is the most effective, leading to the formation and development of self-learning skills, self-control and self-organization, increases the level of conscious attitude to the acquisition of professional competence and personal qualities of the future specialist.
