Abstract :The article points out that in Nakhchivan dialects and sub-dialects there are many interesting names of large and small cattle by gender, age, appearance and other characteristics. An etymological study of Turkic lexical units such as inek, buzov, duye, azman, emlik, tokhlu, shishek, teke is also important for studying the common history of Turkic languages. The article also explores the aspects of the development of these language units in other Turkic languages, ancient vocabularies, folklore and variants which suggests that there is very rich information on livestock-related dialect lexicon. There are many units in Nakhchivan dialects and sub-dialects that are not currently used in the literary language, which reflect the richness of the language and its wide possibilities of use.
Keywords : livestock vocabulary, cattle breeding term, sheep names, goat names, inek, dana, azman, tokhlu, teke
