Abstract :This descriptive correlational study looks at the relationship among spatial visualization skills and spatial habits of mind, the influence of gender on them, and the relationships between each dimensions of spatial habits of mind and others. Spatial visualization is the ability to flexibly move and rotate a geometric object in the mind, and visualize its open and closed states. Spatial habits of the mind are the ability to define a geometric object, count its features and think systematically about the object. In Turkey, the study conducted in the 2023-2024 school years with 79 eight graders (47 female and 32 male students). Data were collected via “Spatial Visualization Skills Test” and “Spatial Habit of Mind Inventory”. There were determinations made regarding the independent sample t-test, correlation analyses, mean and standard deviation values, minimum and maximum scores, and so forth. Significant correlations were found between spatial visualization skills and the use of spatial tools, pattern recognition and spatial description, spatial description and visualization, and visualization and spatial concept use. Due to gender differences, men were more likely have favourable spatial habits of mind, but not for spatial visualization. There are many studies regarding spatial visualization skills but there is restricted research about spatial habits of mind. Since most of the studies on spatial thinking are conducted with unKeywords : Eight Grade Students, Spatial Habits of Mind, Spatial Visualization
