Abstract :ÖZET Amaç: COVID-19, koronavirüs ailesinden bir RNA virüsü olup ilk kez Aralık 2019’da tespit edilmiştir. COVID-19, 30 Ocak 2020’de Dünya Sağlık Örgütü tarafından pandemi olarak ilan edilmiştir. Bu çalışmada, acil servis çalışanlarında pandemi döneminde görülen psikolojik değişiklikleri tespit etmeyi amaçladık. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Çalışmaya 120 acil servis çalışanı (olgu grubu) ve 70 hastane dışından gönüllü (kontrol grubu) dâhil edildi. Katılımcılara Beck Depresyon Ölçeği (BDÖ), Beck Anksiyete Ölçeği (BAÖ), Beck Umutsuzluk Ölçeği (BUÖ) ve Travma Sonrası Stres Belirtileri Alt Ölçeği uygulandı. Ayrıca olgu grubuna TEMPS-A Mizaç ölçeği de uygulandı. Bulgular: Sosyodemografik verilere göre hasta grubu ile kontrol grubu arasında eğitim düzeyleri dışında yaş, cinsiyet, çalışma durumu ve medeni hal arasında anlamlı fark bulunmadı. Gruplar karşılaştırıldığında BDÖ (p=0,000), BAÖ (p=0,005), BUÖ (p=0,021) ve TSSÖ (p=0,000) açısından istatistiksel olarak anlamlı fark olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Olgu grubunun mizaç profiline göre, 8 kişi depresif mizaca, 4 kişi siklotimik mizaca, 2 kişi anksiyöz mizaca sahipti ve hipertimik mizacı olan kişi yoktu. Sonuç: Acil servis çalışanlarının COVID-19 döneminde psikolojik olarak etkilendiğini tespit ettik. Sağlık çalışanlarına yönelik zorunlu ve düzenli ruhsal takip programları planlamanın olumsuz etkilenmeyi azaltacağını ve iş performanslarını artıracağını düşünüyoruz. COVID-19 was declared as a pandemic by the World Health Organization on 30 January 2020. In this study, we aimed to detect psychological changes in emergency department (ED) personnel during the pandemic period. Material and Methods: The study included 120 ED personnels (case group) and 70 volunteers from outside the hospital (control group). The Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI), Beck Hopelessness Scale (BHI) and Post-traumatic Stress Symptoms Subscale (PSSS) were applied to the participants. In addition, the TEMPS-A temperament scale was applied to the case group. Results: According to socio-demographic data, there was no significant difference between the case group and the control group, except for education levels, between age, gender, employment and marital status. When the groups were compared, it was determined that there was a statistically significant difference in terms of BDI (p=0.000), BAI (p=0.005), BHI (p=0.021) and PSSS (p=0.000). According to the temperament profile of the case group, 8 people had depressive temperament, 4 people had cyclothymic temperament, 2 people had anxious temperament and there was no individual with hypertimic temperament. Conclusion: We found that ED personnels were affected psychologically in the period of COVID-19. We think that planning mandatory and regular mental follow-up programs for healthcare workers will reduce the negative impact on individuals and increase their job performance Keywords: Anxiety; COVID-19; Depression; Pandemic; Hopelessness;
