Abstract :In the contemporary world, we are witnessing the collapse of liberal hegemonic world order led by the United States in the aftermath of Cold War. Although, classical liberalism does not favour social engineering even at state level yet progressive liberals favoured hegemonic designs at international level. The United States pursued ideas of progressive liberals and wanted to remake the world in their image. Thus, to augment her vested interests, the United States promoted human rights, democracy, capitalism and international organisation in the early phase of the 21th century. However, US policy of global domination backfired when they used force unilaterally without taking international law, global norms into consideration. The little appreciation regarding the use force led towards decline in the power of indispensable nation. Moreover, the rise of China and Russian resurrection under the Putin administration are posing severe challenge to liberal order. To add insult to injury, the coming of Donald Trump in power has led towards a crisis phase for liberalism.
