Abstract :Wernicke ensefalopatisi, tiamin eksikliğine bağlı gelişen akut nörolojik bir durumdur. Klinik olarak ataksi, oftal- mopleji ve bilinç bozukluğu ile karakterizedir. Alkolizm ve ciddi malnutrisyon en sık nedenler arasında olmakla bir- likte uzun süreli parenteral beslenme sonucu da görülebi- lir. Bu makalede apandektomi operasyonu sonrası dönem- de tiamin desteği olmaksızın uzun süreli total parenteral beslenme alan, taşikardi, horizontal nistagmus, ataksi ve bilinç bulanıklığı gelişen ve tiamin tedavisine yanıt veren Wernicke ensefalopatili bir vaka sunulmuştur
