Abstract :Bu çalışmada, coğrafya öğretmenlerinin alternatif ölçme ve değerlendirme tekniklerini kullanma durumlarını tespit etmek amaçlanmıştır. Bunun yanı sıra öğretmenlerin bu tekniklerle ilişkili karşılaştıkları sorunlar, avantajlar ve hizmet içi eğitim ihtiyaçları hakkındaki görüşleri de belirlenmiştir. Araştırmada tarama (survey) yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma Trabzon, Giresun, Ordu ve Rize’ de görev yapan 108 coğrafya öğretmeni ile yürütülmüştür. Veri toplamak aracı olarak,  Çepni ve arkadaşları (2011) tarafından öğretmenlerin alternatif ölçme ve değerlendirmeye yönelik ihtiyaçlarını belirlemek amacıyla geliştirilen anket kullanılmıştır. Veriler SPSS 16 windows paket programı kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir.  Araştırma sonunda öğretmenlerin alternatif ölçme değerlendirme tekniklerinden çok, geleneksel teknikleri kullandıkları tespit edilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarına dayalı olarak bazı önerilerde bulunulmuştur.     Anahtar kelimler: Coğrafya, ölçme değerlendirme,   Alternatif ölçme teknikleri Abstract The aim of this study is to determine the level of use of alternative techniques for measurement and assessment of geography teachers. Besides, benefits and challenges encountered by teachers and their ideas about the in-service training are determined. Survey method is used in the research. The research is conducted with 108 geography teachers working in Trabzon, Giresun, Ordu and Rize. The questionnaire, developed by Cepni et all. (2011) to determine the needs of teachers for alternative measurement and assessment, is applied as data collection tool. Data were analyzed by using SPSS 16 Windows packet program. At the end of the research it is found that teachers use traditional techniques more than alternative measurement and assessment techniques.
