Abstract :As the year draws to a close, this issue of our journal invites a moment of reflection on the evolving intersections of design, technology, and culture. In an era defined by ecological precarity and the accelerating pace of urbanization, the discipline of architecture faces both immense challenges and unprecedented opportunities. The authors of this issue explore how practitioners and theorists reimagine the built environment by embracing adaptive reuse, pioneering material innovations, and redefining the role of public spaces in fostering resilience and inclusivity. With contributions spanning critical essays, case studies, and speculative projects, this issue intends to provoke dialogue and inspire action within a profession poised to shape the narratives of our shared future. Şahabettin Öztürk’s article “A Study on the Restoration and Reuse of the Historical Bitlis Municipality Building” analyses the 2012-2014 restoration project of the historical Municipality Building of Bitlis, a significant structure in the city’s Urban Protected Area, which aims to preserve its architectural integrity while ensuring its continued cultural and functional relevance. Yasemin Demirel Şen’s article “Evaluation of the New Afyon Museum in the Context of Publicity” focuses on the new Afyon Museum for the publicization of museology, as she unfolds that public spaces serve as places of cultural and social exchange, and especially museums evolve beyond their conventional functions of storage and exhibition to include theatres, workshops, and educational spaces. Gökçe Demircan and Meliha Burcu Sılaydın’s article “An Overview of Climate Change Adaptation-Spatial Planning Integration Problem Through Literature: Evaluation of the Context in Türkiye” scrutinizes climate change, which threatens ecological and social systems, making adaptation strategies essential, with spatial planning playing a key role in urban resilience; yet for them, challenges remain in integrating these strategies, as highlighted by issues in Türkiye’s spatial planning practices. Begüm Yelda Gür Karabulut’s article “The Examination of Studies Using 3D Printing Methods in Architecture Through Bibliometric Analysis” examines scientific research on the applications of 3D printing in architecture, focusing on its technological and sustainability advancements using the Web of Science database and Vosviewer software. Ülkü Çelebi Gürkan’s article “Production of Modern Housing Through Cooperatives: The Case of Isparta – Gülevler Building Cooperative” suggests the preservation of a significant example of modern urbanism and architecture, built between 1968-70, characterized by its rapid construction, modern design, and impact on the city’s architectural development.
