Abstract :Purpose: Unemployment continues to be one of the most critical challenges globally. In this context, perceptions of employability and career obstacles have gained importance, particularly in the field of healthcare services. This study investigates the impact of personal characteristics and employability perceptions on perceived career obstacles among students attending a health vocational school. Method:The study was conducted with 405 students from a vocational school in Ankara. Participants were selected through convenience sampling, based on the principle of equal probability. Data were collected via an online questionnaire and analyzed using the Kruskal-Wallis test, Mann-Whitney U test, and Hierarchical Linear Regression Analysis. Findings: Findings show that older age (β = .118, p = .009) and being female (β = .192, p < .001) are positively associated with perceived career obstacles. Conversely, expectations of public sector employment (β = -.093, p = .039) reduce these perceptions. External employability factors (β = -.430, p < .001) appear to have a stronger impact than internal ones. Conclusion: In conclusion, both demographic and environmental factors significantly shape career obstacle perceptions among health vocational students. Specifically, being older or female increases perceived barriers, while positive expectations regarding public employment may help mitigate them. Keywords : Sağlık İnsangücü, İstihdam, Mesleki Eğitim, Sosyal Politika
