AN ANALYSIS OF 8TH GRADE STUDENTS’ ACHIEVEMENT IN TRANSITION FROM PRIMARYEDUCATION TO SECONDARY EDUCATION (TEOG) EXAM

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine correlation between the achievement scores of middle school 8 th grade students taking TEOG exam at the first and second terms score and achievement score differences between the genders is to determine. The research method is non-experimental that It is correlation. The results of the study revealed that students did not succeed well at English and mathematics courses, female students were more successful than boys in terms of Turkish, mathematics, and English courses, there was a high correlation  between the same courses both in the first term and second term, considering different courses, the correlation between Turkish and revolution history courses were the highest , and  the lowest between religious culture and moral knowledge courses and mathematics and science courses was the lowest
