COVID-19 Vaccination Behavior in Healthcare Professionals with At least 2 Doses of COVID-19 Vaccination After Sars-CoV-2 Omicron Variant

Abstract :AIMS: Health workers are priority individuals because they take part in primary health care services, and they are a very high-risk group for infectious diseases and pandemics. Behaviors of health workers as role models in society towards vaccines and treatments can significantly affect their efforts to fight against a disease or to contain and terminate a pandemic. METHODS: This study aimed to determine healthcare workers’ COVID-19 vaccine attitude who had positive Sars-CoV-2 omicron variant after receiving at least 2 vaccine doses. The population of this decisive study consisted of healthcare workers who had positive Sars-CoV-2 after at least 2 doses of vaccine and volunteered to participate in the study. The study reached 532 healthcare professionals and a cross-sectional study was conducted as an online questionnaire between 15-28 October 2022. RESULTS: It was determined that 340 insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(63.91%); of them were female and 192 insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(36.09%); were male. 224 insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(42.11%); were laboratory technicians, 198 insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(37.22%); were other healthcare professionals,78 insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(14.66%); were biologists and 32 insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(6.02%); were physicians. 364 insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(68.42%); of them did not have chronic disease and 35.71 % of those with chronic disease had hypertension. Sars-CoV-2 variant was not detected for the 32 insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(6.02%); who were COVID-19 positive. 508 insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(95.49%); of the participants received 3 doses of COVID-19 vaccine and 400 insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(75.19%); preferred BioNTech vaccine for the third dose. CONCLUSION: Multi-faceted data compilation of supportive and informative approach for vaccine encouragement among healthcare workers is determined to be very significant. Healthcare workers should be provided with accurate and up-to-date scientific information to evaluate effectiveness of vaccines.
