Abstract :Fransa, toprak yapısı, iklim koşulları, üzüm çeşitleri, bağcılık tekniği, şarap yapımı yöntemleri ve özellikle insan faktörü açısından dünya şarapçılığında en ön sırada yer alan bir ülkedir. Son istatistiklere göre Fransa’nın bağ alanı 1.194.000 hektar, yıllık yaş üzüm üretimi 6.537.700 ton, şarap üretimi 69.203.000 hektolitre, şarap dışsatımı 8.739.000 hektolitre, şarap dışalımı 6.665.000 hektolitre ve şarap tüketimi 51.000.000 hektolitredir.
